The Sales Associate must present, promote and sell products and services using solid advice to existing and prospective customers. They must have communication skills as they will be speaking directly with customers. They must have a strong understanding of Economy Fence’s products and services to address customer questions.

The Inside Sales Associate is the first point of contact with customers who have complaints, orders, or require information about products/services purchased from Economy Fence. They also provide solutions that fit those individualized situations and prioritize the customers’ needs at each step of the process – building sustainable relationships and trust with the customer.

The Sales Associate provides a variety of information and sells fencing services and products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation.

The Inside Sales Associate contacts customer leads, pre-qualifies them by answering basic questions, providing general pricing, and then scheduling estimating appointments for the Outside Sales Associate. This position works in collaboration with several different employees, departments and vendors to handle the needs for customers and potential customers. The Inside Sales Associate will assist with answering phone calls.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with customers’ fencing needs in providing solutions that fit those individualized situations and prioritizes the customers’ needs at each step of the process.
  • Sell fence and Fencing Products.
  • Follow up on all generated sales leads.
  • Screen and qualify prospects to determine how to best meet client needs.
  • Professionally meet and greet customers that come to the front counter
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product knowledge and price lists on lines carried by EFC.
  • Prepare quotes using CFS fencing software, close sales and obtain appropriate paperwork and deposits.
  • Manage all activities of sales transactions from start to completion including order placement, follow up, coordinating pick-up and/or delivery and troubleshooting.
  • Present, display or demonstrate product, using samples or printed material in an appealing manner.
  • Enters, updates and verifies data into various systems for use by EFC employees including tracking all sales.
  • Clean and maintain workspace, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with housekeeping, safety and company standards.
  • Good time management and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to recognize and identify product both near and from a distance
  • Ability to recognize there is a problem or safety concern.
  • Work with sales within Residential, Commercial, Over-the-Counter or a combination of these areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Actively participate in meetings as requested

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a sales environment. Construction field experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer knowledge and skill level in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Outlook.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills using English language.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans.
  • Possess or ability to learn construction processes, means and methods.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to use basic algebra and geometry skills.
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and a favorable driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid insurance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented and excellent time management skills.
  • Able to maintain a good working relationship with all employees and customers.
  • Competent in conflict management and resolution.
